Labor Day weekend is the unofficial send-off to summer, and South Jersey is giving the season a proper farewell. From classic cars and food trucks to beach concerts, fireworks and one last trip down the boardwalk, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the long weekend close to home.

21st Annual Glassboro Car Show & Food Truck Festival

When: Friday, September 4, 2026, from 5 to 9 p.m.
Where: Downtown Glassboro, 1 High Street West, Glassboro, NJ 08028
Admission: Free

Downtown Glassboro will kick off Labor Day weekend with hundreds of vehicles, more than 20 food trucks, artisan vendors and live music. Guests can check out antiques, classic cars, muscle cars and imports before trophies are presented in 16 categories. Two beer gardens will also serve local beer, wine and spirits.

It is an easy pick for families, car enthusiasts or anyone whose ideal Friday night involves live music and a food-truck decision that takes far too long.

54th Delaware Valley Bluegrass Festival

When: Friday, September 4 through Sunday, September 6, 2026
Where: Salem County Fairgrounds near Woodstown, NJ
Admission: Ticketed event

The Delaware Valley Bluegrass Festival returns to Salem County for its 54th year with three days of bluegrass, country and old-time music. The 2026 lineup includes Kathy Mattea, the Dan Tyminski Band, The Travelin' McCourys, Junior Sisk, Tuba Skinny, Appalachian Road Show and more.

The full weekend also includes workshops, children's activities and plenty of informal jamming. Camping is included with full-weekend tickets, making this a strong option for anyone who wants to turn the holiday into a full getaway without leaving South Jersey.

Roebling Company Town Walking Tour

When: Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 1 to 2 p.m.
Where: Roebling Museum, Roebling, NJ
Admission: $5 for the tour or $3 with museum admission

Explore a different side of South Jersey history with a guided walking tour of Roebling's historic company town. The tour shares the stories of the steel-mill workers and families who lived in the community, from immigrant laborers to company superintendents.

Tickets can be purchased at the museum's admission desk, and advance registration is not required. It is a solid choice for history fans or anyone looking for a quieter Labor Day weekend activity away from the bigger festivals.

Live Music at Cedar Rose Vineyards

Spend Saturday afternoon in Cumberland County with live music from T.J. Fry at Cedar Rose Vineyards. Guests can settle in for an afternoon of local wine, food and music in the vineyard's tasting room and kitchen.

Reservations are encouraged, although walk-ins are welcome when space allows. Guests must be 21 or older to enter the winery.

FISHER at HQ2 Beachclub

For a more grown-up Labor Day weekend option, Grammy-nominated producer and DJ FISHER is bringing his high-energy house music to HQ2 Beachclub in Atlantic City. The daytime show offers a full beach-club experience at Ocean Casino Resort with one of the biggest names in dance music.

18th Annual OUT in the Park Festival

When: Sunday, September 6, 2026, from noon to 6 p.m.
Where: Cooper River Park next to the Camden County Boathouse, 7050 North Park Drive, Pennsauken, NJ
Admission: Free

Southern New Jersey's OUT in the Park Festival returns to Cooper River Park for an afternoon celebrating the region's LGBTQ+ community, friends, families and allies. The family-friendly festival begins at noon, with the main entertainment scheduled to start at 3 p.m.

The event is free, open to the public and scheduled to take place rain or shine. Pets are also welcome, and free parking is available.

Labor Day Weekend Boardwalk Craft Show

When: Saturday, September 5, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, September 6, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: Wildwoods Boardwalk at Rio Grande Avenue
Admission: Free

The Labor Day Weekend Boardwalk Craft Show brings local makers and vendors to the boardwalk for two days of shopping by the shore. Expect handmade jewelry, artwork, clothing, home decor and other one-of-a-kind finds.

It is a relaxed addition to a beach or boardwalk day, especially if you are not quite ready to trade summer weekends for pumpkin-everything season.

Wildwood Crest Summer Music Series: Megan Knight Band

When: Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 7 to 8:45 p.m.
Where: Centennial Park, East Fern Road, Wildwood Crest, NJ
Admission: Free

Bring a blanket or beach chair to Centennial Park for a free outdoor performance by the Megan Knight Band. The country-pop singer-songwriter has previously appeared at the Barefoot Country Music Fest.

With the ocean nearby and no ticket required, this is a simple way to wind down after a full day at the shore.

Wildwood End of Summer Block Party

When: Sunday, September 6, 2026, from 1 to 10 p.m.
Where: Fox Park, 4500 Ocean Avenue, Wildwood, NJ

Wildwood's End of Summer Block Party is the big Sunday send-off. The family-friendly event features live entertainment, food vendors, craft vendors and free activities for children at Fox Park, directly across from the Wildwoods Convention Center.

The party runs well into the evening, giving visitors plenty of time to fit in the beach, boardwalk and festival without choosing just one.

Cape May Summer Send-Off Concert and Movie on the Beach

When: Sunday, September 6, 2026; concert from 7 to 9 p.m. and movie at 9:15 p.m.
Where: Convention Hall Beach, 714 Beach Avenue, Cape May, NJ

Cape May is wrapping up summer with a concert by the beach followed by an outdoor movie. The Summer Send-Off Concert begins at 7 p.m., and the movie is scheduled to start at 9:15 p.m. near Convention Hall.

OCNJ Labor Day Race
