Being near the beautiful beaches of Cape May allows you the opportunity to kayak, parasail, swim, build sandcastles and sunbathe all summer long! (And sometimes even in the spring or fall, too!)
There's also endless shopping and fun to be had at the Washington Street Mall, located in the heart of Cape May City. This landmark is home to many incredible local boutiques, ice cream parlors, bars, bakeries, art galleries and so much more! When living in Cape May, you'll find that nothing beats heading here on your bike for some window shopping or homemade ice cream at the end of a hot summer day!
Cape May is also known famously for the Cape May Zoo and Cape May Lighthouse, which are perfect locations to visit with family or friends.
Vineyards, Breweries and Distilleries
When you think of great vineyards, Cape May (or New Jersey) is likely not the first place you think of. We are certainly not to be overlooked! From the Cape May Winery and Vineyard to the Willow Creek Winery, you'll find that Cape May has a lot to offer when it comes to great wines!
If beer is more to your taste, Cape May is also home to the Cape May Crewing Co. and Cold Spring Spring Brewery - both of which are well worth a visit!
Lastly, for those that enjoy handcrafted spirits like bourbon, gin, vodka, rum or tequila... you'll want to check out the Cape May Distillery and the Nauti Spirits Distillery.
Getting Around Cape May
When living in Cape May, and particularly in the Downtown area of Cape May, you'll likely spend less time driving your car. Many residents choose to walk or bike ride to the beach or local shops and restaurants. (Not only is life at the shore beneficial to your physical and mental health, but it could even save you some money on gas and auto bills!)
All in all, if you're considering a second home, investment property or relocating to the Jersey Shore... you'd certainly want to include Cape May as a candidate! While it may be the southernmost NJ shore point and a longer commute when coming from the North... it is well worth it!
