Valentine's Weekend Getaway Ideas (Within Driving Distance of South Jersey!)

Still looking for Valentine's Day plans? Valentine's Day falls on a Monday this year, so why not make a weekend of it? Here are some great mini-getaway spots that are within driving distance of the South Jersey area:

1. Cape May, NJ

Even though it's winter, the Jersey Shore is still a romantic location for a mini weekend vacation! Head on down to Cape May to enjoy many of the delicious restaurants they have to offer (like The Lobster House or Misha's Fine Dining). Bundle up and take a walk on the beach with your loved one. Go shopping at some of the local restaurants and boutiques, or even check out one of Cape May's wineries! 

2. Annapolis, Maryland

Take a trip down to the Chesapeake Bay and explore everything Annapolis, Maryland has to offer! Book at a stay at the Annapolis Waterfront Hotel and soak in the amazing views. If you enjoy wine, you'll want to book a tasting at the Great Frogs Winery. Annapolis has plenty of delicious restaurants, ice cream and local shops... and maybe you can even catch a ride of their famous trolley!

3. Skytop, Pennsylvania

Take a drive out to the Poconos Mountains and check out the Skytop Lodge! Not only does this beautiful resort offer amazing dining options and stunning scenery, you'll have more than a few activities to enjoy throughout the weekend! They have it all - skiing, snow tubing, hiking, snow shoeing, ice skating and so much more! For couples that like to stay active on their getaways - this is the place for you!

4. New York, New York

Check out what's on Broadway or book lunch and dinner reservations at one of New York's endless 5-star restaurant options. Go ice skating or take a horse-drawn carriage ride in Central Park. New York City is known for their trendy and romantic speakeasy-themed bars, so be sure to research some options on Google or Yelp and enjoy a fancy cocktail in style. 

5. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

If you're looking for more of a "stay-cation," head across the bridge and spend a night or two in the City of Brotherly Love. Book a room at the Ritz-Carlton and some dinner reservations. Go ice skating and take a walk through Dilworth Park's wintertime village and attractions. Visit some of your favorite shops in the city or book a spa day to enjoy together!
